Men’s Counseling
Guys, I want you to know that I’m really glad that you’re here. I know that it can take a big step just to search for a counselor that can help, and you’re already taking a step forward just to be reading this page. If you’re here, you probably feel immense pressure to perform in every area of your life, and maybe you feel like you’re failing most of the time. It’s exhausting to get up every day, try to do your best at work and at home, and still feel like you’re coming up short.
No One to Talk To
Every time I sit down with one of my guys, I hear these words so often: “I can’t talk about these things with anyone in my life, and if I try, it makes things worse.” It’s a sad reality, but often, when us men try and speak up when we’re struggling, other people either don’t know what to say, or they might be upset that we said anything at all.
And, as a man in a field which is about 80% women, I’m always striving to be someone that you can always talk to, not just because I’m a counselor, but also because I can relate on a personal level about what it’s like to be confused and not know where to turn.
Men of All Ages
No matter your age, we men face some unique challenges. Whether you’re a young man who’s trying to get your life started, or a mature man who’s trying to lead your family, your business, and keep yourself in one piece, there’s pressure to perform in every aspect of life.
We’re expected to work hard and conquer the world, but also be sensitive and present in our families. We’re expected to be tough and resilient, but also know how to ask for help when we need it. I call these challenges The Man’s Dilemma, and I encourage you to check out that blog post and many more I’ve written to see what I’m talking about.
So, here’s some good news: There are lots of resources and help out there, and you don’t have to just “suck it up” and try harder. To start, just check out some of these blog posts I’ve written just for you. I put this material out just so that you can have something accessible to start with, and I hope it helps you on your way.
Take the Step
You don’t have to walk through this by yourself, we can take it on together. And, if you have hesitations about counseling, that’s okay. I was hesitant too about this whole field, but that all changed when I realized that all we’re doing is this: Talking, man to man, about how to make life better. That’s all this is.
It’s okay to have uncertainties about counseling, and you don’t need any prior counseling experience to work with me. So, if you’ve read this far and can relate to some of what I’m saying, I think we’d be a great fit to work together. Don’t put it off any longer, head over to my Scheduling page and let’s get started; you’ll be glad you did.
