Financial Therapy

Financial Therapy in South Carolina and North Carolina

In this world, money matters. If you don’t have a good grip on your money, or if you feel very anxious when you try to plan your financial future, that’s going to take a huge toll on your life. Your health may suffer, your relationships may suffer, and you might even make worse financial decisions and lose a lot of your money as a result. In my work as a therapist, I’ve seen how our money issues can affect our whole life, which is why I decided to become a financial therapist for people in South Carolina and North Carolina.

And, I’ve found that it’s so hard to talk about money with anyone. Trying to get advice from your friends or family can be tough if you don’t want to disclose the details of your financial situation, or you might hear people say “You’re making a good salary, why are you worried about money?” which can be even more discouraging. So then, you’re left wondering, what do I do? Maybe, you’re here because you’ve considered that a therapist has something to offer.

So what does a financial therapist do?

Just so there’s no misunderstandings, I want to be sure I explain myself well on this point: I am a trained therapist who specializes in dealing with financial issues, I am not a certified financial planner. So, I approach your situation with my expertise in mental health and relationships, and we can work through how to handle your anxieties around your money. Also, we can work through how to better handle conversations about money in your marriage or family.

You don’t need to “just deal with it” or suffer through your money issues alone, I love walking with my clients as they improve their lives, and I promise you that with the right support, you can decide how you want your money to impact your life.
